Welcome!

As an established Stained Glass Craftsman I have honed the skills over many years to be able to design, fabricate, install, remove and restore traditional stained glass and leaded light windows.

Schooled in this art by my father, himself a Stained Glass Craftsman for over 40 years, I have the knowledge and skill set that have not changed in this trade for well over 150 years.

Whether you are looking for a bespoke stained glass window for your front door, have a dilapidated leaded light window in your bedroom or the kids have mis-aimed a football, please feel free to make contact.

I offer Stained Glass and Leaded Light Windows made and restored using traditional techniques passed down through generations.

Based in Watford, I am perfectly placed to work all over Hertfordshire and the home counties as well as London, Kent and the south of England.

I undertake Stained Glass restorations and new commissions from both private and commercial clients. From Church windows to the front door in your private home, I have the experience here to undertake the work you require.

I also work alongside a very talented stained glass artist and conservation expert, herself with 18yrs experience.

“If it isn’t good enough for my own home, it's not good enough for a Customer!”

My reputation is everything to me. Over the years I have built a good reputation for a cost effective, high quality and friendly service. I pride myself on offering the very best quality finish to your Stained Glass or Leaded Light windows.

I have always said to customers that if I wouldn’t be happy with the finished result in my own home, then it isn't acceptable in yours.

What my customers say

I am a traditional craftsman that can always be relied upon. I have worked tirelessly on improving my service so that my customers know they can trust me to carry out their work with as little disruption to their daily lives as possible.

  • Pete made us two absolutely stunning stained glass panels for our door. Great communication throughout which I appreciated. Pete allowed us a lot of input into the design and gave us his professional opinion on what would work best. Great attention to detail, you get a feeling he is doing his very best for you. Lovely and friendly to boot. We are completely thrilled with his work. Highly recommend.

  • Thank you so much Pete for everything, we love our new door panels and have enjoyed every step of the process, now just have to stop staring at them! Pete was so helpful with our initial enquiry, advised on all options, kept in touch all the way along and just made the whole experience so collaborative. The stained glass is absolutely beautiful and a real feature of our hall now. Would definitely recommend Pete for your project!

  • From Start to finish Pete ‘held our hands’. A true craftsman and delight to work with. Guiding us on design aspects, colour, style and shape. Popping round with samples. Working with our door company to make sure all the details were right. We could not be happier with the result. Plenty of people comment on our door and I have no hesitation in recommending you and your business. Thanks again.

  • Pete came to quote promptly, competitively and then repaired and installed our front door panel ahead of time. Very happy with his work (and his patience as my inquisitive kids interviewed him while he worked).

Frequently Asked Questions:

Please find some of the most common questions I get asked and tips on what information is useful to me on first contact.

  • Q: Can you give me a rough idea on cost?

A: There are many factors that will effect the overall cost of a job. Some of the useful information for me is:

    Size of the window/damage

    Photo of window/damage

Examples of type of design for new bespoke designs

Where the window is in the country

What floor the window is in the building/access ease

  • Q: Are you able to match the texture of the broken glass?

A: As time goes on some types of textured glass have stopped being made as original manufacturers fall by the wayside. Some companies make reproductions of certain more common textures which can be an acceptable replacement. However there are occasions when a match is not possible. In this circumstance the phrase "best match available" is applicable. But that is what I am here for, to advise!

  • Q: Will you be able to match the exact colour?

A: This all depends on what the colour is and the tint of the colour. Coloured glass manufacturing has the same characteristics as wallpaper manufacture - the colour and tint from batch to batch is slightly different each time. So while usually a very close match can be sourced, there are occasions where that particular tint simply is not made anymore.

  • Q: Do you charge a quotation fee?

A: Simply put, No. I have no problem travelling to your address to discuss your requirements and take measurements to provide you with a quote. If you are a long distance I may ask for certain information to be able to give a estimate which if you are happy I am then willing to come and quote for the work.

  • Q: Does your price include VAT?

A: I am not VAT registered and as such VAT is not applicable to my quotations or invoices.
